PROJECT PARTNERS

We have two project partners for the women’s reading groups.

Farm and Rural science foundation – Organization run by some retired Agriculture University scientists and working in Andhra Pradesh for welfare of the farmers. They have adopted 10 villages and working on overall development of the farmer community.

We have selected three villages in Warangal district with 15 reading clubs (5 in each village). The clubs will be formed from already existing savings groups of women. The audience will be illiterate women farmers. Ten reading circles are already operating, and five more will be started.

ICDS project area of Deptt. of Women development and child welfare - This department is running a national level program 'Integrated Child Development Scheme'. They provide cooked food to children below five .We have selected 6 villages in Ranga Reddy district with the aim of establishing 24 reading circles (4 in each village). The reading circles will be formed from already existing ' Balika mandals' (Adolescent  girl groups), most of them being from a tribe called ' Lambada Tanda'. The audience will be illiterate adolescent girls and women.
